I’m a bit mystified – the above picture is of a bombed out city, which Coventry ended up as during the Second World War, the photo is NOT of Coventry. How do I know this ? Several reasons – a) the city’s tram network was completely destroyed in the raid on the night of November 14th 1940 and never ran again. b) Coventry Corporation tramcars were painted burgundy and cream, not one solid colour (and I’m fairly certain they did not run single deck tramcars, only double deckers). c) The spires still standing in the distance bare no resemblance to… Read more »
